Facebook Makes Post Tagging, Location and Customizing Who Sees Posts Easier

Sunday, August 28th, 2011

I’d heard and tweeted about the upcoming changes to Facebook Places feature, but tonight I saw it rolled out in the Status Update bar on my personal profile.

Here’s what it looks like:

When you decide to Update Status, the first icon beneath the status window let’s you choose who to tag. It says “Who are you with?”

The icon directly beside it let’s you add your location — the big change to the Facebook Places concept. I find it much more Facebook-friendly.

Finally, on the far right, it makes customizing posts toward specific friends or lists of friends much easier. This is Facebook’s improved attempt at the Google + circles idea.

Facebook CirclesYou can even edit AFTER you post, which is a nice add-on.

What do you think of the new Facebook post features? Let me know in the comments
